§ 8-22. Penalty for violation.

  • Any person violating any prohibition or restriction imposed by a proclamation authorized by this article shall be subject to the following:

    (1)

    A violation of any such prohibition or restriction shall constitute a misdemeanor under section 1-6(g) punishable under G.S. 14-4(a) as set forth in table 2 in section 1-8.

    (2)

    A violation of any such prohibition or restriction shall subject the offender to a civil charge under section 1-6(f) and table 1 in section 1-7 in the amount of $1,000,00 which sum may be recovered by the town in a civil action in the nature of debt if the offender does not pay the charge within 30 days after having been cited for violation of such prohibition or restriction.
