§ 6-126. Findings.

Latest version.
  • It is hereby found and declared that the debris associated with the relocation or demolition of a structure constitutes both a health and safety hazard to the public. The relocation or demolition of a structure generally results in substantial debris remaining at the original site location unless otherwise prohibited. This debris constitutes a health and safety hazard, especially in locations where tidal waters and wave action are likely to carry the debris to adjoining property in that if left unrestrained or not removed, such debris could cause substantial damage to other property. Removal of debris and appurtenances associated with any structure being relocated or demolished must be required to preserve the health and safety of the public.
