§ 16-559. Required plant material and characteristics.

  • A buffer strip, where required by this article, shall consist of plant material of such growth characteristics as will provide an obscuring screen of not less than six feet in height at the time of planting. The amount of planting required to accomplish adequate screening is variable with the individual site. The zoning enforcement officer shall determine types and amount where no specific standards are specified by this article, and the zoning board of adjustment or planning board shall make such determination when approval of site plans is required by either of these bodies. In any case, the description of screening in section 16-560 shall be established as the minimum acceptable buffer within the terms of this article.
